DA
DIA RAPID
The
Da Dia Rapids in the villafe of An Ninh Dong in the Tuy
An district are strangely structured, and included large
upright stones equally arranged in a star pattern. Dark-black
cylindrical stones pile up on one another, half of them
under the surface of the water. In the middle of the rapids
there is small concave fissure containing water from the
rain and sea, which has become a puddle with blue, red,
violet and yellow fish. Around the fissure, rocks stick
out at odd angles and waves break into white foam upon them.
In
front of the rapids is a large and deep rocky cave that
can hold up to 100 people. The route to the area is quite
difficult, as the landscape is still wild and primitive.
The rapids have been classified as a national heritage by
the Ministry of Culture and Information.
